Bhad Bhabie Goes Off In IG Live Rant: ‘If I Wanna Be Black, Then Why Am I Racist?’ (Video)

What appeared to be a potential learning experience for 18-year-old Bhad Bhabie, a conversation with Lil Yachty on Instagram Live quickly turned into a shouting match after Bhad Bhabie got frustrated with her critics.

Lil Yachty, who has worked with Bhad Bhabie before, was live with Bhad Bhabie discussing the way she responds to criticism, especially from the public and Black community.

Bhad Bhabie expressed her frustration with consistently being accused of cultural appropriation.

Yachty, coming from a mentoring position, tried to talk to Bhad Bhabie about how she responds and why he felt her message wasn’t connecting with her audience.

“Do you think if you yell at a screen that people gon’ like,” Yachty said before being cut off by Bhad Bhabie.

Essentially, Yachty explained that defending herself isn’t the issue but how she does it oftentimes just adds fuel to the fire.

“I need you to understand that it’s a better way to get your point across,” Yachty said, his voice drowned out by the sound of Bhad Bhabie yelling.

His words sent her into a rant in which she said she’s tired of being accused of appropriating Black culture.

“Listen, the one thing I’m really really sick of is the whole ‘Bhad Bhabie’s a cultural appropriator,” she said.

Bhad Bhabie then went on to break down her own definition of cultural appropriation, to further drive the point home that she’s not appropriating Black culture.

“Cultural appropriation is if I was to sit up and say… a certain race looks ugly with that and then I go do that on myself,” she said. “Or if I said that Black girls look ugly with braids and then I go get them, that’s cultural appropriating. Or when girls put chopsticks in their hair, that’s cultural appropriating. That’s doing something negative with someone’s culture.”

Yachty tried to get Bhad Bhabie back on topic, but she had a few more things to say.

“‘Oh she wants to be Black,’ but if I want to be Black, then why am I racist? Make it make sense!” Bhad Bhabie said. “That’s really what I get pissed about because it’s like, where do you even get that from? Like what, because I have a hood accent?”
