Burglar found in closet of NYC pol’s office clutching hard drive

An alleged burglar busted into Queens Assemblywoman Nily Rozic’s Queens office Saturday night but didn’t make it very far — cops later found him hiding in a closet with a hard drive in hand.

Michael Masturzi, 27, broke the glass door of Rozic’s office on Union Turnpike — prompting a 911 call that ended with his arrest, an NYPD rep said.

Rozic, a fourth-term Democrat, said the local precinct called her at 10:30 p.m. to tell her someone had broken into her office.

Police said Masturzi was found in a closet in the back of the building — and in possession of a hard drive.

The would-be thief rifled through Rozic’s desk but did not touch any of the computers, the assemblywoman said.

Rozic said she has no idea who Masturzi is.

“Fortunately no one was harmed and no one was at the office when the perpetrator arrived,” Rozic told The Post. “We’re obviously closed for the time being but looking forward to reopening and serving constituents remotely in the meantime. No one will stop me from serving my community, so as soon as we can reopen, we will.”

Masturzi is charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property, cops said.

He has been nabbed 16 times before — including five times on burglary charges, according to law enforcement sources.
