Caeleb Dressel swimming schedule: How to watch USA star’s events live at 2021 Olympics

Caeleb Dressel has emerged as the new face of the United States’ men’s swimming team.

In the 2016 Rio Olympics, he swam alongside Michael Phelps in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay and the 4×100 medley relay to win his first two gold medals on the world stage. Since then, he’s emerged as perhaps the most dominant sprint swimmer in the world, winning gold medals at the world championships in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 butterfly, along with the 4×100 free relay in the 2017 and 2019 long course races.

Now preparing to compete in his second Olympics, Dressel is expected to put on a show. He’s favored to win the 50 and 100 free races, and could set new world and Olympic records in both races. He already owns the world record in the 100 breaststroke at 49.50 seconds and should win gold in that event too with the chance to reset the world record. And that’s not to mention the fact he’ll be racing in a few strong relays for the United States, as well.

Here’s a breakdown of when you can expect to see Dressel swim during the Olympics.

What events is Caeleb Dressel swimming?

Dressel is one of the world’s best sprint freestyle and butterfly swimmers. He owns the world record in the 100 meter butterfly and appears to have a strong chance to break Cesar Cielo’s world records in the 50 and 100 freestyles this year. He’ll compete in all three of those individual events and will also swim in the 4×100 freestyle relay.

Though the unit has not been announced, the men’s 4×100 medley relay is almost certainly going to include Dressel swimming either freestyle or butterfly as well. He might also be on the 4×100 mixed medley relay.
