Dead body found floating in Central Park’s Harlem Meer

A dead man was found floating in the Harlem Meer in Central Park Saturday evening, according to police sources.

Police responded to the scene near the Boathouse after a woman called 911 around 7 p.m., and told cops she saw the unidentified man floating in the water, the sources said.

Footage from the park shows police gathered near the water’s edge behind police tape while onlookers stand in the distance.

The dead man, identified only as a black man in his 40s, was pulled from the lake and declared dead at the scene around 7:15 p.m., the sources said.

The medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
