Destiny 2 Xur location and items, July 9-13

The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur on Nessus, standing on a big tree in the Watcher’s Grave.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Fighting Lion, Void Special grenade launcher: 29 Legendary Shards
  • The Sixth Coyote, Hunter chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Armamentarium, Titan chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Wings of Sacred Dawn, Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now purchase a second with an Exotic Cipher)
  • Exotic Cipher quest: free

Xur’s items drop at a similar power level as your character.

Fighting Lion

The Fighting Lion is an Exotic tube-fed grenade launcher. Its primary perk, Delayed Gratification, causes its projectiles to bounce and only explode after you release the trigger. Its secondary perk is Thin the Herd, which increases damage done to the enemy shield. This grenade launcher also uses primary ammo.

Fighting Lion is a gimmick weapon, but that doesn’t mean it’s useless. If you’re working on any quest that requires grenade launcher kills, the Fighting Lion is perfect — since it rarely runs out of ammo. It takes a lot of time to get used to the Fighting Lion, but it’s a powerful tool in rare situations.

The Sixth Coyote

The Sixth Coyote is an Exotic chest piece from Forsaken. Its Exotic perk is Double Dodge, which is exactly what it sounds like: Hunter players can hold two stacks of their class ability, dodge.

If you just need to go invisible and resurrect your allies more often, this is a great piece of gear to pair with Nightstalker.

Xur’s roll this week is Void, and comes with 66 total stats.

Antaeus Wards

The Armamentarium is a pretty simple chest piece. Its Exotic perk is And Another Thing, which causes you to gain another grenade charge regardless of the subclass you’re using. Armamentarium is a great chest piece to grab if you don’t have a specific Exotic you want to wear. If you like Titans and grenades, you should at least pick this one up.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 62 total stats.

Wings of Sacred Dawn

Wings of Sacred Dawn is one of the weirdest looking Exotics in all of Destiny 2. Its Exotic perk, Tome of Sacred Dawn, allows you to hover while aiming in the air, keeping you suspended for a short period of time. The more precision hits you get like this, the longer you stay up.

Wings of Sacred Dawn is very fun to use but requires you to equip Dawnblade. Thankfully, Dawnblade is now quite powerful, making it far more viable than it used to be. If you like floating in the air and flinging fire, check this Exotic out.

Xur’s roll this week is Solar, and comes with 64 total stats.

Exotic Cipher quest

Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments to Lost Light kiosk in the Tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent and Truth.

This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. By finishing the quest, you’ll earn an Exotic Cipher to use however you want.
