An unhinged man randomly beat a 70-year-old woman in a brazen broad-daylight attack in the East Village, police said.
The disheveled creep hit the woman over the head with an unknown object as she stood on East 14th Street near Second Avenue around 10:40 a.m. on Friday, cops said.
The man was carrying a drink in a plastic cup, a plastic bag and several clothing items at the time of the unprovoked assault, according to pictures released by the NYPD.
The elderly bystander fell to the ground and was treated at a local hospital for cuts to her wrist and elbow, according to cops.
The suspect fled the scene and was still being sought by detectives.
