Gunman arrested after firing at transit cops in NYC

A gunman was arrested after firing his weapon at NYPD transit cops pursuing him outside of a Harlem subway station on Sunday night, police said.

The chaos unfolded after officers saw the suspect shoot at a group of people on street level near the 125th Street station on the No. 2/3 line at about 9:45 p.m., according to cops.

The cops gave chase and during the pursuit the man allegedly squeezed off several rounds at the cops, but missed the officers, police said.

Police caught up with him near the intersection of Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 128th Street, authorities said..

A gun was also recovered, cops said.

Charges against the man were pending as of late Sunday night.
