Harrison Ford Injured Rehearsing ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Fight Scene

Harrison Ford injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene for Indiana Jones 5.

Deadline reports that Harrison Ford, 78, injured his shoulder while practicing a fight scene for the upcoming Indiana Jones flick. Disney quickly released a statement, confirming the nature of Ford’s injury, as well as what changes can potentially be made to the filming schedule. Filming doesn’t appear to be postponed for now, as Indiana Jones 5 director James Mangold will shoot around Ford’s injury. The production team is currently figuring out what the best course of treatment is. The schedule for the fifth film in the hit franchise will be retooled in the next few weeks to accommodate Ford’s injury.

“In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks.”

Production on Indiana Jones 5 began earlier this month in various locations throughout the United Kingdom. Details on the film are relatively slim, though it has been rumored that the action thriller will take place in the 1960s and that the premise will revolve around the space race. Set photos have indicated that the film will also feature flashbacks of the character, as a stunt double was seen wearing a Harrison Ford mask (likely for de-aging reasons) during a chase sequence.
