Katie Ledecky Still Busy Making Records To Have A Boyfriend

Katie Ledecky has been making headlines since her Olympic debut in the 2012 London Olympics.

Even though she became an Olympic-level athlete at 15, she has not let her determination stutter. Now, the 24-year-old competitive swimmer has been training harder than ever.

So much so that she has not seen her family and friends in over a year.

No Time for Relationships

Ledecky secured a place in the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo after she won the 200-meter-freestyle and the 1,500-meter-freestyle at the U.S. Olympic trials earlier this month.

The news came as no surprise. Ledecky is the most decorated U.S. female swimmer in history. However, that title does not come cheap.

After the trials, she spoke to the Associated Press and revealed that she was able to be successful because she did not have much time to rest.

That does fall in line with what her father once told Vogue magazine.

Apparently, she doesn’t spend a lot of time on land. Romper reported that the Olympic swimmer spent almost all her time with the love of her life: the pool.

She Hasn’t Seen Her Family in over a Year

Ledecky spoke at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee Media Summit back in April 2021, where she revealed that she had not seen even her closest relatives in over a year since the pandemic, let alone have a boyfriend.

“I think it adds a little bit of an extra push to all of us,” said the 24-year-old who was excited to show the world how much effort she’d put into training amidst the ongoing pandemic.

She also said that she really missed being with her family, which gave her all the more reason to make the most of the time that she spent honing her craft. She added,

I want to make sure that it’s worth it. I really want to make them proud of me, and everyone in the States, when I compete.

She Is Excited for the Upcoming Olympics

Ledecky, who already has five Olympic gold medals to her name, still has something new to look forward to in her third Olympics.

The Olympic swimming program has announced that women would compete in the 1,500 meter freestyle race for the first time in history.

As the reigning champion for the U.S., Ledecky expressed her excitement to be a part of the event. The gold-medalist expressed her gratitude and respect to the female swimmers before her, and during the same media summit, she said,

I want to take advantage of that opportunity and really get us started on a really great note there. It’s one of my favourite races, one of my best races.

She Is a Multimillionaire

Since she became an Olympic-level competitor at such a young age, it is safe to say that Ledecky will be swimming competitively well after the Tokyo Olympics.

She has also amassed quite a fortune for herself alongside her career. Initially, she couldn’t accept endorsement deals because she was a student with NCAA, but after she went pro in May 2018, she signed an agreement with the swimwear company TYR.

The deal is worth seven million dollars paid out over six years. As of now, Celebrity Net Worth puts her net worth at around four million dollars.
