Le’Veon Bell won’t let Andy Reid controversy die

Le’Veon Bell continues to call out his former coach.

In response to an Instagram post relaying Andy Reid’s remarks saying that the Chiefs coach “enjoyed” his time with Bell and is “pulling for him.” Bell commented “lol that’s cap,” suggesting Reid’s comment was a lie.

The reply marks the latest chapter in a bizarre saga between Bell and Reid. Last season, after being released by the Jets, the disgruntled running back signed with Kansas City. Bell appeared in nine games as a Chief, rushing for 254 yards and making a minimal impact. He did not appear in either the AFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl, sitting in favor of Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Darrel Williams.

Over the weekend, Bell commented on Instagram that he would rather retire than play for Reid again.

“I’ll never play for Andy Reid again,” he wrote.

Afterwards, Bell took to Twitter to offer a mea culpa of sorts.

“I’m not about to get all into depth on why I feel the way I do, but I have my right to feel the way I feel,” Bell said. “The ONLY thing I would change is commenting how I really felt on social media. I’ll admit that’s something I could’ve and should’ve kept to myself & I apologize about that and that only.”

Evidently, Bell didn’t stick to his words for long.

The 29-year-old is currently a free agent. Since sitting out the 2018 season due to a contract dispute with the Steelers, Bell has posted his two-worst statistical seasons since being drafted in 2013.
