Loki Director Kate Herron Would Be Down To Direct A Miss Minutes Horror Movie

Loki director Kate Herron says that she’d love to direct a Miss Minutes horror movie for Marvel.

Marvel Studios’ Loki ended last week on a game-changing event that saw the multiverse opening up thanks to the actions of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie. The season one finale received considerable acclaim from both fans and critics, with particular praise being hurled towards director Kate Herron, who helmed each of the show’s six episodes. Herron revealed shortly after the season one finale that she won’t be returning to take on the show’s second season.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Loki director was asked if she’d return to the Marvel machine to direct a horror movie. But not just any horror movie; a Miss Minutes horror movie that sees the TVA’s recordkeeper as the killer in a slasher movie. In case you’ve forgotten, Miss Minutes briefly appears throughout the series as the TVA’s digital personal assistant of sorts. Miss Minutes possesses all the knowledge of the TVA, including the identity of its real ruler. Responding to the potential film idea, Kate Herron replied with a resounding yes.

“I would love to! That would actually be my dream.”

Aside from a potential Miss Minutes horror movie, the interview also touched upon Kate Herron’s departure from the show. The Loki director maintained that the show was always meant to be a limited series but that as production came to a close, it was extended to accommodate a second season.

“I would say that when I joined Loki, it was always going to be those six episodes. We were treating it like a movie, and we were running it like a movie. We weren’t doing it in the showrunner system. So it was a lot to direct these six episodes, and I gave it all of my energy and everything I had in my soul and in my heart. I threw everything I loved about Marvel at it. So I always intended just to do these six.”

“It was such a massive compliment and a delight that as we got much later into production, Marvel and Disney were like, ‘Ah, man. This is excellent, and we want to keep going.’ So I just feel like my part is done, but I’m really excited to see where it’s going to go next. So I gave it all that I have, and it came from a place of love. I really enjoyed working on it, and I hope to work with Marvel again in the future. They changed my life, and I just love Marvel as I’m sure people can tell from the amount of Easter eggs and references I did throughout it.”
