Man struck, critically injured by delivery truck on Upper West Side

A 36-year-old man was struck and critically injured by a delivery truck driver on the Upper West Side Wednesday night, police said.

The victim was trying to cross at the intersection of West 73th Street and Broadway when he was struck by a DHL van at about 7:20 p.m., according to cops.

The driver, a man in his 20s, remained on scene. He was later taken into custody and is expected to be charged, police sources said.

EMS took the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in critical condition with head trauma, according to police.
