Manchester City makes £100 million bid for Harry Kane: Report

Premier League champions Manchester City have made their first official £100 million bid for England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Harry Kane wants to opt-out of the club as he wants to play Champions League football and wants to win trophies. The 27-year-old player expressed his desire to leave the club but Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy is in no mood to sell his club’s best player and is trying his best to convince the striker. According to Sky Sports, Man City’s first bid has been rejected by the London based club.

Harry Kane won the golden boot award and was also awarded as the best playmaker award in the Premier League but unfortunately, his side finished 7th in the league after a pleasant start and failed to qualify for the Champions League next season for the second time in the previous two season’s.

On the contrary, Manchester City had an exceptional season as they won the Premier League and Carabao Cup but they got defeated by Chelsea in this year’s Champions League final.

According to transfer expert journalist Fabrizio Romano, City has also included at least one player in this deal which means that they are ready to offload players for English striker and Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Aymeric Laporte are the potential players to be discussed as part of the negotiations.

The English champions are in desperate need of a striker this summer as they want to replace their all-time top goalscorer Sergio Aguero who left the club after a decade to join FC Barcelona on a free transfer. Harry Kane has been one of the best strikers in the Premier League for the last 6 years but he is yet to win a major trophy for both club and country.

Kane earns £200,000 weekly and a whopping £10 million per year at Tottenham and a club like Manchester City can surely provide a better project and an improved salary to the player.

The future of the player remains uncertain as Kane is currently captaining the English side in Euros. The English team won the first group fixture against Croatia but registered a 0-0 draw against their old rivals Scotland.

England will play their third and final group stage game against the Czech Republic and it’s a must-win game for the Three Lions as it would book their spot in the Round of 16 of the competition.

Harry Kane was disappointing in the first two group stage games and is yet to register a shot on target at the Euros.
