Mets manager Luis Rojas on Monday was suspended two games for “excessive arguing” during Sunday’s 7-6 win against the Pirates, the league announced.
Rojas was ejected after arguing with home plate umpire Jeremy Riggs, who ruled a Kevin Newman single fair in the first inning.
Rojas and Mets pitcher Taijuan Walker believed it was a foul ball, leading to mass confusion and the Pirates scoring three runs to take a 6-0 lead.
Rojas, who was also fined an unspecified amount, will miss Monday and Tuesday’s game against the Reds in Cincinnati.
