Police have not released details of the crash, but shocking images from the wreck show the two vehicles reduced to crumpled metal.

A silver sedan is seen smashed up against a utility pole, with pieces of the car strewn about the pavement and airbags can be seen to have deployed.

Some distance away a dark-colored vehicle rests near another light pole, with the entire front end crushed in towards the driver’s seat.

Police are still investigating the fatal crash.
