NYPD releases video of ‘coordinated’ Corona, Queens mass shooting

Two gunmen trailed by moped-driving accomplices fired off 37 shots and wounded 10 people in Queens on Saturday night before fleeing on the vehicles, in a “coordinated attack,” according to police and a newly released video of the mass shooting.

The duo turned left on 37th Avenue in Corona and whipped out handguns from their waistbands, pointed their weapons at a crowd and began firing at the group in front of Mexican restaurant Dos Bros, a 38-second clip released by the NYPD Sunday morning shows.

After the barrage of bullets, the gunmen joined their apparent cohorts on the mopeds before they all fled together, the footage shows.

“It’s pretty disturbing,” Chief of Detectives James Essig said Sunday morning of the video of the attack at a press conference near the scene.

“Two guys just stick their arms out and walk down a very crowded street at 10:30 at night, where there’s parties going on, restaurants … crowded streets.”

The chief said the shooting just after 10:30 p.m. was a “coordinated attack.”

“After they fire at least 37 times that we know of, they calmly get on the back of the scooters and take off. Very brazen, to say the least,” Essig said.

“This was, as I can most accurately describe it, a brazen, coordinated attack.”

Among the 10 victims, seven were unintended targets and three “Trinitario gang members,” Essig said in reference to the Latino street gang.

“There was a party going on in a restaurant just a few stores away,” he noted.

Cops do not yet know the identities of the attackers and don’t believe the party inside the restaurant was related to the shooting.
