Traffic was temporarily shut down in the Holland Tunnel on Friday afternoon after cops were alerted to a possible armed person in a car, a Port Authority police spokeswoman said.
The lanes were closed at 2:45 p.m. heading into the Big Apple, the spokeswoman said.
It was unclear if anyone had been taken into custody or the report of a gunman in a car was true.
The lanes were reopened by 3:05 p.m., the spokeswoman added.
