‘Stranger Things’ Producer Teases Season 4 Release Date Announcement

Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy has hinted at when fans can expect a release date announcement for the Netflix show’s fourth season.

Like many other television shows and films, the production schedule and release date for the fourth season of Stranger Things was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since production resumed, the streaming titan has released a number of teasers, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the show’s upcoming season. One thing that has not been revealed, however, is when the show will be released.

While speaking with Collider, Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy revealed that this was, in part because they weren’t done filming the fourth season. He also revealed that at least part of the answer would be revealed by mid-August:

“All I can say about [the release date] is by the time this airs, we’ll at least have given the world a ballpark. And I’m not allowed to say more. By the time Free Guy comes out, August 13th, part of that answer will be known.”

Here is the official synopsis for the third season of Stranger Things:

“It’s 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer’s heating up. School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”
