Suspect lunges for cop’s gun in Las Vegas police interview room

Shocking surveillance video shows the moment a 27-year-old murder suspect charged with killing a toddler lunges for a cop’s gun in a Las Vegas police station interrogation room.

Terrell Rhodes, who had allegedly just confessed to beating 2-year-old Amari Nicholson to death, is seen lunging for the officer’s gun and in a melee with three cops, according to recently released footage posted online by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“Let me out of here,” Rhodes is heard saying, crying. “I can’t go back.”

“Terrell, drop the gun,” one of the cops is heard saying. “You’re making things worse.”

Rhodes is accused of killing his girlfriend’s young son last month because the boy wet himself, the Review-Journal said.

Amari disappeared May 5, and his body was found on May 12, buried under a wall in a parking lot next to a McDonald’s after Rhodes led them to the scene.

Rhodes was later indicted on murder charges in that case, and on attempted murder, assault and four counts of resisting arrest over his caught-on-video scuffle with cops.

He had previously served time in prison on robbery and burglary convictions in 2017 and 2018, records reviewed by the Review-Journal show.

He is due back in court on June 25 in the murder case, the outlet reported.
