TIGERS NEWSLETTER: July should be anything but Rocky, thanks to the schedule
Game notes: Urena is hoping for a better July after he was ineffective in June. In six starts last month, the veteran right-hander gave up 31 hits, 25 earned runs and eight home runs in 18 innings. He’s been better on the road this season with a 5.28 ERA away from Comerica Park compared to a 7.71 ERA when pitching at home. The Rangers enter the series after losing two of three to the Seattle Mariners and counter with Dane Dunning, who typically doesn’t throw beyond 90 pitches or five innings. He last worked into the sixth inning May 20th and just other appearance over 16 starts this season. Dunning held the A’s scoreless in four innings Thursday, but didn’t pitch long enough to get the win a 8-3 Rangers victory.
Tigers lineup: TBA.
