With superstar Simone Biles opting out of the team and individual all-around competitions for mental health reasons, the 18-year-old Lee – already the first Hmong-American Olympian in U.S. history —   became the fifth consecutive US woman to win the event dating back to 2004.

The Minnesota Lynx, Twins, Vikings, Wild and Timberwolves all tweeted out congratulations to Lee soon after her gold medal-winning performance.
