Wendy Williams Trends After People Call Her Out For Her Coverage Of 19-Year-Old TikTok Star’s Murder (Video)

People on social media are outraged by Wendy Williams’ coverage of a young TikTok star’s murder and some are even calling for the talk show host to be canceled for her actions.

Many deemed Wendy’s coverage of 19-year-old TikTok star Swavy’s murder as insensitive and disrespectful. Swavy was fatally shot in Delaware in what his family called a “senseless shooting,” according to the BBC.

During Wendy’s “Hot Topics” segment, Wendy introduced her audience to the young star by asking if fans knew who he was.

“Clap if you know who Swayv is,” Wendy told her audience–who it was clear had no knowledge of the TikTok dancer.

Wendy then talked about Swavy’s social media following and compared it to her own.

“Well, he’s a TikTok star. He’s got more followers than me. 2.5 million,” she said before being interrupted by one of her producers who said, “On TikTok but on Instagram, you have more followers.”

“As far as TikTok, I don’t use that. At all. I don’t know what it is. I don’t want to be involved,” Wendy replied.

She then turned to an image of Swavy on her screen, seemingly disapproving of the teen’s appearance before shockingly revealing the teen was murdered.

Swavy’s family has not addressed the Wendy Williams show segment but were able to confirm the teen’s tragic death on his Instagram page.

Wendy, nor the network, has responded to the backlash. We’ll keep you posted on any updates and let us know your thoughts below.
