What time does the NASCAR race start today? TV schedule, channel for Road America race

For anyone who’s asking “What time is the NASCAR race today,” the answer is that it’s when many NASCAR races are starting this season.

The Cup Series is running at Road America for the first time since 1956 with the Jockey Made in America 250 presented by KwikTrip. The road course event will be a late-afternoon affair on Independence Day.

NASCAR is holding the majority of its 2021 Cup Series races in the daytime; the next night race will be the regular-season finale at Daytona on Aug. 28.

What time does the NASCAR race start today?

  • Date: Sunday, July 4
  • Time: 2:40 p.m. ET (TV time)

The green flag for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Road America is scheduled to drop at 2:40 p.m. ET.

Weather should not disrupt the start of the race. The National Weather Service forecast for Sunday at the road course in Plymouth, Wis., is for mostly sunny skies and a high temperature near 90 degrees. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10-15 mph.

NBC’s programming will begin at 2 p.m. with the “Countdown to Green” prerace show, followed by race coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET.
