‘Drag Race’ and ‘Brady Bunch’ crossover set for Paramount+

First, the Bradys crossed over to HGTV for “A Very Brady Renovation,” then they judged Food Network’s “Chopped.”

Now they’ll sashay with queens from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

The cast of “The Brady Bunch” will team up with primped stars from RuPaul’s VH1 hit show for “Dragging the Classics: The Brady Bunch,” a special that will re-create the classic sitcom’s 1971 episode “Will the Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up?” It will drop June 30 on Paramount+ as a Pride month promotion for Season 6 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” which premieres Thursday.

The special will twist things up a bit, though, and feature some original cast members in other roles. While Christopher Knight and Mike Lookinland will reprise their characters Peter and Bobby Brady, respectively, Barry Williams — who originally played eldest son Greg — will take on Brady patriarch Mike (played by Robert Reed in the original show). Eve Plumb, who played middle daughter Jan, will be the character Lucy, while Susan Olsen — the original little Cindy Brady — will play Margie.

Meanwhile, a number of “Drag Race” favorites will take on key parts, including Shea Couleé as Marcia Brady, Bianca Del Rio as mom Carol Brady, BenDeLaCreme as Greg Brady, Kylie Sonique Love as Jan Brady, Kandy Muse as Cindy Brady and Nina West as loyal housekeeper Alice. “Drag Race” host RuPaul and judge Michelle Visage will also make appearances.

“The Brady Bunch” cast members are definitely not strangers to television crossover events. In 2019, “A Very Brady Renovation” aired the refurbishing of the original Brady home with help from “Property Brothers” Drew and Jonathan Scott — and, of course, former Bradys.

That same year, the original cast members Williams, Plumb, Lookinland, Knight, Olsen and Maureen McCormick (who played Marcia) were guest judges in two separate Season 43 episodes of the Food Network’s “Chopped.”
