According to Vin Diesel, the final two films in the Fast and Furious franchise will be shot back to back.
The road that Vin Diesel and the Fast and Furious franchise has been on has been a long one and it may, at last, be coming to an end. The first film came out all the way back in 2001 and helped turn the then-unknown actor into a major Hollywood star. Since then the franchise has gone through its fair share of ups and downs, feuds between its stars, and even a death in the main cast. It has nonetheless become one of the most popular blockbuster franchises in existence. Now the groundwork is being laid for it all to come to an end.
While speaking to Comic Book.com, Vin Diesel revealed that the next two Fast and Furious films will be shot back to back revealed when the films were expected to be released. He also noted that the tenth film was supposed to be released this year but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic:
“It is back-to-back. The target release date is 02/23 for the first one and 02/24 for the second one. We were supposed to release this movie last year, prior to the pandemic. So I guess what’s different about this release is that we’re a year into development and pre-production on Fast 10. And so I’m doing these interviews and it’s bizarre because I have to go back to Fast 9. I’m celebrating the release of Fast 9, but I have so much more to celebrate.”
