Kevin Durant ‘still has some learning to do’: Scottie Pippen

Scottie Pippen knows how to win. And the six-time NBA champion thinks Kevin Durant could take some notes from fellow noted winner LeBron James.

“James is a complete team player who understands team and winning. Has [Durant] gotten to that level yet? He went home,” Pippen told Yahoo Sports. “I think he still has some learning to do in terms of what it takes to will a team to victory.”

Pippen was asked if Durant elevated his game to another level this postseason. He immediately compared Durant to James.

“I feel like {Durant has] always been this player,” Pippen said. “But I see a lot of a talk now going on about, ‘Has he surpassed LeBron James?’ Surpassing LeBron James takes a little bit more than an individual’s effort.”

Pippen suited up alongside Michael Jordan, dominating the NBA in the 1990s. While Pippen did mention the Nets dealt with injuries this postseason, he still thinks Durant has room for growth.

Durant is the talk of the league right now, and this will continue as the offseason progresses. The Nets can now extend their franchise cornerstone to a long-term deal, potentially cementing his future with the organization.
