PUBG to get animated “project” from Netflix’s Castlevania producer

PUBG will soon be an animated … something. The project will be created aby the Netflix Castlevania producer Adi Shankar, Krafton Inc. announced on Tuesday.

Of course, we don’t actually know what the project will be about, or what exactly it is. Outside of the project’s existence, the announcement didn’t get into many specifics. While PUBG has been building up lore over the last several years, it’s still possible to imagine just about any type of story being set inside the universe.

With Shankar involved, it seems likely that we’ll get quite a bit of action no matter what the project’s about. Shankar’s previous shows include Netflix’s Castlevania series, as well as the upcoming Netflix and Ubisoft series, Captain Laswerhawk.

One thing Shankar mentions in Krafton’s press release is that he looks “forward to revealing to everybody what winning a chicken dinner looks like,” which could mean that the project will be battle royale-themed just like the game.

Another important question is what exactly “project” might mean. The press release says that Shankar will showrun the PUBG animated project, but it’s unclear if that means it will be a traditional animated series or something else.

There’s no word yet on when, or where, this new PUBG animated project will be released.
