Tom Brady is getting ahead of the ‘Madden’ curse

EA Sports isn’t taking any chances with their cover boys.

The “Madden” curse has been an NFL staple, a cruel malediction that affected numerous video game cover boys. Peyton Hillis. Shaun Alexander. Vince Young.

But not Tom Brady.

EA Sports announced Brady and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be the cover athletes of “Madden 22.” The gaming outfit poked fun at its history, offering the star QBs some … extra precautions … to ensure their health and well-being.

“This thing’s ridiculous,” Brady said of his big plastic bubble — EA Sports’ “custom protective equipment” offering to the Bucs’ QB.

Mahomes, on the other hand, got himself a Chromium blended, aerodynamic jumpsuit.

Brady was a little more carefree in 2017, when he was named the cover athlete of “Madden 18.” He broke a mirror and walked under a ladder to show how he felt about the curse.

This time around, everyone is being extra careful. And while Mahomes was gifted the better protective suit, Brady has seven Super Bowl rings on his name. So hopefully for Brady, his bubble keeps him healthy, allowing him to go for eight this season.
