Grim Discoveries: Police Investigate Links Between Infant’s Freeway Death, Woodland Hills Murder, and Fatal Crash

In a series of disturbing incidents that unfolded across Los Angeles on Monday, authorities are probing possible connections between the death of an infant found on the 405 Freeway, a homicide in Woodland Hills, and a deadly car crash in Redondo Beach.

Infant Found Dead on 405 Freeway

The tragic sequence of events began around 4:30 a.m. when California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a medical emergency on the northbound 405 Freeway near Centinela Avenue in Culver City. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a baby girl, estimated to be 5-6 months old, lying in the traffic lanes.

A 9-year-old girl was also found injured on the right shoulder and was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Witnesses reported seeing a black sedan in the area around the time of the incident, though its relation to the children remains unclear.

The CHP is urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.

Woodland Hills Homicide Scene

Later, at approximately 7:30 a.m., LAPD officers were called to the Montecito Apartments on Variel Avenue in Woodland Hills, where they found an unresponsive man in his 30s who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors described hearing loud arguments from the unit, occupied by a couple and their two children, in the months leading up to the incident.

“I woke up in the middle of the night around 3:40 to screaming and commotion,” one neighbor recounted.

“This morning… I see their front door wide open and blood coming from their apartment all the way into the hallway to the elevator.”

Fatal Crash in Redondo Beach

Around 5 a.m., Redondo Beach police responded to a single-car crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Vincent Street.

The female driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had lost control of her vehicle and collided with a tree.

Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Investigating Potential Connections

As detectives pieced together the morning’s events, they discovered that the incidents might be linked.

The LAPD is collaborating with the CHP, Redondo Beach Police Department, and the LA County Coroner’s Office to determine the nature of these connections.

CBS News reported that detectives have identified a suspect in their investigation as the mother of the children found on the freeway and the wife of the man found dead in Woodland Hills

However, the LAPD has not officially confirmed this information.

“At this time, Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are working with the California Highway Patrol on the incident involving the two children and believe it is connected to the Topanga homicide scene,” the LAPD stated.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working diligently to unravel the tragic chain of events and provide answers to the grieving families and community. The LAPD encourages anyone with information related to these incidents to contact the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
