Shawn Michael Chock ID’d as driver that rammed bicyclists

Arizona police on Monday released the identity of the man they say plowed through bicyclists during a race, critically injuring six.

Shawn Michael Chock, 35, was still hospitalized after he was shot during a confrontation with police after the carnage in Show Low on Saturday, police announced.

Seven bicyclists also remained hospitalized, six of them in critical condition, according to the Show Low Police Department on Monday.

Chock, of White Mountain Lakes, is said to have driven his Ford into a throng of cyclists who’d just begun in the 55-and-over group of the annual Bike the Bluff road race.

Racer Jim Volkenant told ABC 15 that he had locked eyes with the driver.

“It was a look I will never forget,” Volenant said. “Staring like there was nothing there.”
